A perfect pitch item in magic shops years ago was the Ball and Tube Mystery where a steel ball bearing would visibly sink into a steel tube in which it could not fit.

This one in brass allows the same effect to happen at the finish of the ball sinking and raising it is found by the spectator to be a solid bar of brass!   Hallmarked and includes instructions.  Condition very fine.
