Description

Effect: The magician chooses a member of the audience who is wearing a ring and says, "I get the impression, Sir, that you're a good sport. Is that so? Good... because I have a sporting proposition for you.

The magician then proceeds to borrow the ring from the spectator and places the ring on the shackle of a padlock, snaps it closed and hands it to the spectator.  When he takes it, he finds he has a securely closed padlock on which is his ring...and the padlock key!

"The Proposition, Sir is this, if you can undo the padlock you win your ring back.  The fact that the key is also locked on the padlock makes it a little more difficult, but I assure you that there is a logical answer to the problem".

The spectator may or may not give you the logical answer (which is that all padlocks come with two keys... So can I have the other one).  Regardless, the performer searches his pockets and eventually produces the second key.  It is handed to the spectator who  now finds he is faces with an additional and totally unexpected problem... The Padlock has no Keyhole!

The magician takes the padlock from him and threads this on a cord(not supplied), giving the ends of the cord to the spectator to hold.  He covers it with a handkerchief (not supplied).  Reaching underneath, he removes the key, but there is no ring.  When the handkerchief is removed, it is seen that the ring is now tied to the center of the cord.  Includes 4 pages of illustrated instructions.

Condition:  very fine.
